CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99135
CWE-ID: CWE-835
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service by triggering an infinite loop during discard processing.

The vulnerability exists due to an incorrect fallback buffer size calculation in the dm-integrity integrity_metadata() function when processing discard requests after a memory allocation failure. A local user can trigger discard processing on a device configured with a tag size greater than HASH_MAX_DIGESTSIZE to cause max_blocks to become zero, preventing bi_size from decreasing and causing an infinite loop.
