CVE-ID: CVE-2026-99106
CWE-ID: CWE-401
Exploitation vector: Local access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to exhaust kernel memory and potentially cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to missing deallocation of HMM ranges in the Linux kernel AMDGPU command submission error paths when command submission fails after amdgpu_cs_parser_bos() succeeds. A local user can submit repeated command streams containing an indirect buffer with an unmapped va_start on a ring that patches command streams in place, such as VCN, to leak HMM ranges, their hmm_pfns arrays, and retained buffer object references, potentially exhausting kernel memory.
