Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote user to disclose sensitive patient demographic information across the practice, including names, dates of birth, addresses, contact details, and Social Security numbers.

The vulnerability exists due to missing patient-data access controls in the OpenEMR dynamic_finder_ajax.php handler when processing patient search requests. A remote user can request /interface/main/finder/dynamic_finder_ajax.php with caller-selected patient_data columns in the sColumns parameter to enumerate patient records and retrieve sensitive demographic fields without the patients/demo permission.
