CVE-ID: CVE-2026-104198
CWE-ID: CWE-697
Exploitation vector: Remote access
Exploit availability: No public exploit available

Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication, disclose sensitive information, potentially make unauthorized state changes, and cause a denial of service in the ZoneMinder web panel.

The vulnerability exists due to an incorrect authentication-state comparison in web/includes/auth.php and web/index.php when processing an invalid token parameter. Failed token validation sets $user to boolean false, but isset($user) still returns true, causing the authentication gate to be skipped. A remote attacker can send a request such as index.php?token=invalid_signature_test to access protected views, potentially trigger actions without secondary authorization checks, and cause fatal PHP errors when subsequent code treats $user as an object.
