Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose custom credential header values, potentially exposing API keys or service tokens.

The vulnerability exists due to realm-dependent array validation in the sensitiveHeaders handling in follow-redirects index.js when processing a caller-supplied array created in another JavaScript realm. A remote attacker can return a cross-origin redirect from an attacker-controlled or compromised endpoint to receive custom credentials because the instanceof Array check rejects the cross-realm array and replaces the caller's sensitive-header list with an empty list.

Built-in protections for Authorization, Proxy-Authorization, and Cookie headers remain effective.
