Use-after-free in Linux kernel - CVE-2026-100080
Published: November 6, 2026
Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a local privileged user to cause a denial of service or potentially disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free in the Linux kernel xen-netback driver when queue teardown following a frontend connection error frees statistics data without synchronizing RCU readers. A local privileged user can supply invalid Xenstore data from a guest to trigger this error path while statistics are being read through sysfs, potentially causing a kernel crash or exposing information from freed or reused memory.
