Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error when processing IGMP packets. A remote attacker can send specially crafted traffic to the affected system and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


How to mitigate CVE-2019-12259

Install updates from vendor's website.

The vulnerability is fixed in:
VxWorks 6.9: update to version  6.9.4.12
VxWorks 7: update to versions 2.1.0.0 or 1.4.3.1.
