Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an error in the lasticsearch _cluster/settings API within Elasticsearch Alerting and Monitoring feature, when secrets are configured via the API. A remote authenticated user can gain request the affected API endpoint and view sensitive configuration information such as passwords, tokens, or usernames.
