Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in the server component responsible for log analysis when processing of ossec-alert formatted messages. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted message and gain access to sensitive information or cause a denial of service condition on the target system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
