Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation in the local management (local-mgmt) CLI. A local user can include a specially crafted arguments to specific commands and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

This vulnerability affects the following products if they are running a vulnerable release of Cisco FXOS Software or Cisco UCS Manager Software:

  • Firepower 2100 Series
  • Firepower 4100 Series
  • Firepower 9300 Security Appliances
  • UCS 6200 Series Fabric Interconnects
