Detailed vulnerability description
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.
Buffer overflow in libarchive through 2.8.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted TAR archive.
