Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in Icinga 2.x through 2.8.1. By sending specially crafted messages, an attacker can cause a NULL pointer dereference, which can cause the product to crash. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
