Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in libraries/error_report.lib.php in phpMyAdmin before 4.6.2-prerelease. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and remote attackers to determine the existence of arbitrary files by triggering an error. Per <a href="https://www.phpmyadmin.net/security/PMASA-2016-15/">Vendor Advisory</a>: "No released version was vulnerable.
