Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences in DeviceKit-disks in DeviceKit, as used in Fedora 11 and 12 and possibly other operating systems,. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and local users to gain privileges via . (dot dot) sequences in the label for a pluggable storage device.
