Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in the Linux kernel 2.6 allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and Oops) by mounting an HFS file system with a malformed MDB extent record. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
