Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE). A remote attacker can send specially crafted ESP packets to the device and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability affects Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX5000 Series with SPC3, SRX4000 Series, and vSRX when PowerMode IPsec is configured and a malformed ESP packet matching an established IPsec tunnel is received.
