Vulnerability details
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability is caused due to rkhunter downloads updates from mirror websites using HTTP protocol and does not verify authenticity of the downloaded files. A remote attacker can perform a MitM attack via DNS spoofing or traffic hijacking and execute arbitrary code on the target system with superuser privileges.
