Published: January 30, 2024 / Updated: June 25, 2024
Linux kernel
Linux Foundation
Description
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to a race condition within the ndisc_router_discovery() function when handling ICMPv6 router advertisement packets. A remote attacker on the local network can send specially crafted ICMPv6 router advertisement packets, trigger a use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the system.
