Detailed vulnerability description

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient verification of data authenticity within the firmware update process of the VIP microcontroller. A local user can escalate privileges to execute arbitrary code in the context of the VIP MCU.
