Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper memory management in the Snort 2 and Snort 3 TCP and UDP detection engine. A remote attacker can send specially crafted TCP or UDP packets and cause a denial of service (DoS) attack.
