The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

xt_sctp in netfilter for Linux kernel before 2.6.17.1 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via an SCTP chunk with a 0 length.
