Description
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause DoS condition on the target system.

The weakness exists in ntpd due to NULL pointer dereference when the trap service is enabled. A remote attacker can submit a specially crafted packet and cause the service to crash.

Mitigation
Update to version 4.2.8p9.
