Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an error when processing contents of email messages. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted email and make the application to send an SMB request to an attacker controlled SMB server. A remote attacker can obtain victim's credentials and gain unauthorized access to email account or corporate network. Depending on the URL contained in the malicious email, Outlook could fall back to initating a web request to a remote server, disclosing the the external IP of the user's system.
