Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability during tag, alarm, or event related actions such as read and write. A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a carefully crafted packet to invoke an arbitrary process and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Mitigation
Update InduSoft Web Studio version 8.1 SP2.
Update InTouch Edge HMI to version 2017 SP2.
