Description

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect default permissions. The DEB package did not install using root, but instead used a userid and groupid of 500. A local user with the same identifier can escalate privileges on the system.

Mitigation
Install updates from vendor's website.
