CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22159

CWE-ID: CWE-400

Exploitation vector: Network

Exploit availability: No

Vulnerable software:
Juniper Junos OS
Operating systems & Components / Operating system

Vendor: Juniper Networks, Inc.

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to resource exhaustion in the NETISR network queue functionality. A remote attacker can send specially crafted packets over an IPv4 unicast routing equal-cost multi-path (ECMP) unilist selection and force the routing protocol daemon (rpd) to consume all available CPU resources.

Continued receipt and processing of these packets will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition.

Mitigation
Install updates from vendor's website.
