CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22155

CWE-ID: CWE-400

Exploitation vector: Local network

Exploit availability: No

Vulnerable software:
Juniper Junos OS
Operating systems & Components / Operating system

Vendor: Juniper Networks, Inc.

Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources while handling IPv6 neighbor state change events. A remote attacker on the local network can trigger a memory leak in the Flexible PIC Concentrator (FPC) of an ACX5448 router. The continuous flapping of an IPv6 neighbor with specific timing will cause the FPC to run out of resources, leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition.

Mitigation
Install updates from vendor's website.
