Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in within the H5D__create_chunk_file_map_hyper() function in /hdf5/src/H5Dchunk.c. A remote attacker can send specially crafted data to the application, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

Mitigation
Install update from vendor's website.
