Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) CSRF in com_joomlaupdate (CVE-ID: N/A)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient verification of the HTTP request origin in com_joomlaupdate component. A remote non-authenticated attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform certain actions with privileges of the authenticated victim.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow an attacker to perform certain unauthorized actions with privileges of the victim’s account.
2) ACL security bypass in com_content component (CVE-ID: N/A)
The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to access otherwise restricted content.
The vulnerability exists in com_content component when validating ACLs for different users. A remote authenticated user can read data, which should be available only to users with edit_own level privileges.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow an attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information.
3) Cross-site scripting in mail component (CVE-ID: N/A)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability is caused by incorrect filtration of input data passed to mail component. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in victim’s browser in security context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
