Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-16279)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to the missing header count functionality in the "http_header_comp()" function. A remote attacker can transmit more headers than accepted by nhttpd, trigger memory corruption and cause a denial of service on the target system.
2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-16278)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error in the "http_verify" function when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.
Note: This vulnerability leads to remote code execution.
