Description
This security bulletin contains information about 13 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9033)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to stack-based buffer over-read for the "Rank and Dimension" feature in the function ReadNextCell() in mat5.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9034)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to stack-based buffer over-read for a memcpy in the function ReadNextCell() in mat5.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9035)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to stack-based buffer over-read in the function ReadNextStructField() in mat5.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9036)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
An issue was discovered in libmatio.a in matio (aka MAT File I/O Library) 1.5.13. There is a heap-based buffer overflow in the function ReadNextFunctionHandle() in mat5.c.
5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9037)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to buffer over-read in the function Mat_VarPrint() in mat.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9038)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in libmatio.a due to an out-of-bounds read problem with a SEGV in the function ReadNextCell() in mat5.c.
7) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9026)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
An issue was discovered in libmatio.a in matio (aka MAT File I/O Library) 1.5.13. There is a heap-based buffer overflow in the function InflateVarName() in inflate.c when called from ReadNextCell in mat5.c.
8) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9028)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to stack-based buffer over-read in the function InflateDimensions() in inflate.c when called from ReadNextCell in mat5.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
9) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9029)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in libmatio.a due to an out-of-bounds read with a SEGV in the function Mat_VarReadNextInfo5() in mat5.c.
10) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9030)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to stack-based buffer over-read in Mat_VarReadNextInfo5() in mat5.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
11) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9032)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
An issue was discovered in libmatio.a in matio (aka MAT File I/O Library) 1.5.13. There is an out-of-bounds write problem causing a SEGV in the function Mat_VarFree() in mat.c.
12) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-9031)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dreference error in function Mat_VarFree() in mat.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
13) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-13107)
The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Multiple integer overflows exist in MATIO before 1.5.16, related to mat.c, mat4.c, mat5.c, mat73.c, and matvar_struct.c
