Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.
1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-24368)
CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.
2) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24714)
CWE-ID: CWE-284 - Improper Access Control
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Clear
The vulnerability allows a remote user to disclose host-related information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access control in role restrictions linked to decommissioned services when evaluating access based on service custom variables. A remote user can retain access to host-related objects after service objects are decommissioned to disclose host-related information.
Only installations of Icinga 2 with the IDO writer enabled are affected. This applies when a role implicitly permits access to hosts through access to at least one of their services.
3) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24715)
CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:P/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to path traversal in SSH resources configuration handling when processing SSH resource file paths. A remote user can create SSH resource files in unintended directories to execute arbitrary code.
Exploitation requires access to the configuration.
4) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-24716)
CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:A/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to path traversal in static library file requests when handling unauthenticated requests for library files. A remote attacker can request crafted file paths to disclose sensitive information.
Exposed files may include local system files accessible to the web-server user, including configuration files containing database credentials.
