Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.
1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40361)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in Microsoft Word. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) External Control of File Name or Path (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40421)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to external control of file name or path in Microsoft Word. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted Office file and gain access to sensitive information on the system.
3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40366)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in Microsoft Word. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
4) Type Confusion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40364)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion error in Microsoft Word. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a type confusion error and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Files or Directories Accessible to External Parties (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-35440)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to the files or directories accessible to external parties in Microsoft Word. A remote attacker can trick a victim to reply a specially crafted email and gain access to sensitive information on the system.
6) Untrusted Pointer Dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-40367)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
