- Critical
Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 vulnerabilities.
1) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-33228)
CWE-ID: CWE-78 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to command injection in the process_nsys_rep_cli.py script in the gfx_hotspot recipe when processing a malicious string supplied to the script. A local user can supply a malicious string to trigger OS command injection to execute arbitrary code.
The script must be invoked manually.
2) Insecure DLL loading (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-33229)
CWE-ID: CWE-427 - Uncontrolled Search Path Element
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled search path element in Nsight Monitor when loading DLLs. A local user can place or cause the application to load a malicious DLL to execute arbitrary code.
Arbitrary code execution occurs with the same privileges as the NVIDIA Nsight Visual Studio Edition Monitor application.
3) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-33230)
CWE-ID: CWE-78 - Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection')
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to command injection in the .run installer when processing the installation path. A local user can supply a malicious installation path to execute arbitrary code.
4) Insecure DLL loading (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-33231)
CWE-ID: CWE-427 - Uncontrolled Search Path Element
CVSSv4: CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:U/U:Green
The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled search path element in the application's DLL loading mechanism when loading DLLs through insecure search paths. A local user can exploit insecure DLL search paths to execute arbitrary code.
