CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write

CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in the application Softing CAN firmware loader staging copy when processing firmware-provided record data for DPRAM staging. A local user can provide a crafted firmware record to cause a denial of service.

The application loader does not bound the staging copy against the mapped DPRAM before copying.
