Description
This security bulletin contains information about 1 vulnerability.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-80754)
CWE-ID: CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds write
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to incorrect transmitter electrode count assignment in the Synaptics RMI4 F55 driver when F55 sensor detection handles a device with more receiver than transmitter electrodes. A local user can trigger F55 sensor detection to cause a denial of service.
The incorrect transmitter count is propagated to F54 for diagnostic report size calculations.
