Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect transmitter electrode count assignment in the Synaptics RMI4 F55 driver when F55 sensor detection handles a device with more receiver than transmitter electrodes. A local user can trigger F55 sensor detection to cause a denial of service.

The incorrect transmitter count is propagated to F54 for diagnostic report size calculations.
