The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to improper resource release in ttm_prime_fd_to_handle() in the vmwgfx DRM driver when importing a non-vmwgfx PRIME file descriptor through the DRM_VMW_GB_SURFACE_REF or DRM_VMW_GB_SURFACE_REF_EXT path. A local user can pass a non-vmwgfx PRIME file descriptor to cause a denial of service.
