Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 vulnerabilities.

1) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to memory allocation with excessive size values in the Relay plugin\'s partial buffer when processing PING control frames. A remote attacker can send PING control frames to cause a denial of service.

2) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of websocket frames in the relay plugin when processing invalid websocket frames. A remote attacker can send invalid websocket frames to cause a denial of service.

3) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation

CVSSv4: 8.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled memory allocation in the Relay plugin when receiving unterminated text messages from a client. A remote attacker can send a large amount of text data without an end-of-text marker to cause a denial of service.

4) Incorrect authorization (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-863 - Incorrect Authorization

CVSSv4: 6.9 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to start a DCC file transfer without user manual acceptance.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect authorization in the xfer plugin when resuming a DCC file transfer. A remote attacker can resume a DCC file transfer to start it without user manual acceptance.

5) Uncontrolled Memory Allocation (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-789 - Uncontrolled Memory Allocation

CVSSv4: 7.1 [CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to uncontrolled memory allocation in the Xfer plugin when receiving an unterminated Xfer chat message. A remote user can send a large amount of data without an end-of-message marker to cause a denial of service.

6) Path traversal (CVE-ID: N/A)

CWE-ID: CWE-22 - Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')

CVSSv4: 6.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to write files outside the configured download path.

The vulnerability exists due to improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory in the xfer DCC file download handling when receiving a DCC file with a filename containing a non-native directory separator. A remote attacker can send a crafted DCC file to write files outside the configured download path.

User interaction is required to receive the DCC file.
