CVSSv4: 6.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the max_register configuration of the Rockchip Samsung DCPHY PHY driver when dumping registers through the regmap debugfs interface. A local user can dump registers through the regmap debugfs interface to cause a denial of service.
The resulting oops occurs while the regmap lock is held, causing subsequent PHY operations to deadlock.
