Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the max_register configuration of the Rockchip Samsung DCPHY PHY driver when dumping registers through the regmap debugfs interface. A local user can dump registers through the regmap debugfs interface to cause a denial of service.

The resulting oops occurs while the regmap lock is held, causing subsequent PHY operations to deadlock.
