Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 vulnerabilities.
1) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-65393)
CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation
CVSSv4: 4.8 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local application to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation in Xcode IDE. A local application can access user-sensitive data.
2) Inclusion of Functionality from Untrusted Control Sphere (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-86948)
CWE-ID: CWE-829 - Inclusion of Functionality from Untrusted Control Sphere
CVSSv4: 8.4 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to escape an app's sandbox.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient library validation in the App Store component associated with Xcode when loading libraries in affected binaries. A local user can run a malicious app that exploits this validation weakness to escape its sandbox.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-86875)
CWE-ID: CWE-20 - Improper input validation
CVSSv4: 4.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service through unexpected application termination.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in CoreSymbolication when parsing a maliciously crafted binary. A remote attacker can induce a victim to process a crafted binary to trigger unexpected application termination.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-86874)
CWE-ID: CWE-125 - Out-of-bounds read
CVSSv4: 4.6 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:A/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a denial of service through unexpected tool termination.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in otool when parsing a maliciously crafted binary. A remote attacker can induce a victim to process a crafted binary with otool to trigger unexpected tool termination.
5) Inclusion of Functionality from Untrusted Control Sphere (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-86949)
CWE-ID: CWE-829 - Inclusion of Functionality from Untrusted Control Sphere
CVSSv4: 8.4 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to escape an app's sandbox.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient library validation in affected Xcode binaries when loading libraries. A local user can run a malicious app that exploits this validation weakness to escape its sandbox.
