1) Type Confusion (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-93258)

CWE-ID: CWE-843 - Type confusion

CVSSv4: 5.7 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper inode type handling in ocfs2_read_inode_block_full() when processing a directory inode during an active VFS lookup. A local user can trigger a lookup of a directory inode that fails validation to cause a denial of service.

VFS_BUG_ON_INODE() may be triggered when the inode type is reset to S_IFREG.
