Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper inode type handling in ocfs2_read_inode_block_full() when processing a directory inode during an active VFS lookup. A local user can trigger a lookup of a directory inode that fails validation to cause a denial of service.

VFS_BUG_ON_INODE() may be triggered when the inode type is reset to S_IFREG.
