CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]
The vulnerability allows a local user to cause the kernel to issue a warning and become tainted.
The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of an already-wedged device state in the GuC submission timeout handler when handling kernel job timeouts on killed queues during driver unbinding. A local user can trigger a kernel submission timeout on an already-wedged device to cause the kernel to issue a warning and become tainted.
The condition occurs when a GSC proxy kernel submission remains outstanding after the GuC CT has stopped.
