1) Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-97588)

CWE-ID: CWE-754 - Improper Check for Unusual or Exceptional Conditions

CVSSv4: 2 [CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:P/PR:L/UI:N/VC:N/VI:N/VA:L/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N]

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of an exceptional condition in s390 crypto key conversion handling when handling cryptographic key conversion failures. A local user can trigger cryptographic requests requiring key conversion to cause a denial of service.

The condition occurs when hardware persistently returns -EBUSY after key-conversion retries are exhausted and affects callers using crypto_wait_req().
