Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of an exceptional condition in s390 crypto key conversion handling when handling cryptographic key conversion failures. A local user can trigger cryptographic requests requiring key conversion to cause a denial of service.

The condition occurs when hardware persistently returns -EBUSY after key-conversion retries are exhausted and affects callers using crypto_wait_req().
