1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2026-77094)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds write in CvFWD when handling network input. A remote user can supply specially crafted input to trigger a write outside the intended memory boundaries and disrupt service availability.

The vulnerability exists due to improper handling of highly compressed data in the Commvault network messaging layer when processing incoming messages. A remote attacker can send highly compressed data to disrupt service availability.
