Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to disclose sensitive information or cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read in the MXF demuxer (mxfdemux) when parsing crafted MXF files with reverse temporal offsets in index table segments. A remote attacker can provide a crafted MXF file with invalid temporal offset values to disclose sensitive information or cause a denial of service.

User interaction is required to open or process a crafted MXF file.
