Vulnerability details

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to out-of-bounds write in the H.266/VVC codec parser (gsth266parser) when parsing a crafted H.266/VVC video stream with invalid PPS tile slice configuration. A remote attacker can provide a specially crafted video stream to execute arbitrary code.

The issue can also result in a crash or data corruption.
